About Kim

A mom, an artist, a pet enthusiast.

Kim grew up all around South Dakota with her family and various pets. Many of her pieces will reflect the trademark ochre and cobalt shades that charm the Plaines, and the bold hunter greens of the Black Hills. Her primary mediums are colored pencil and oils. Pieces are unique; a charming mix of fauvism, post impressionism and caricature. Her color palettes and style surely inspired by the landscapes she trekked with a 4-legged companion in tow.
Each chapter in her life can be defined by an animal that left a meaningful mark on her life. Describing a past home is generally an anecdote including an animal she loved dearly. Any of which are a joy to hear. For each photo of a past friend, there is a portrait to match and a loving memory to share.
Kim currently lives tucked away in Rapid City, where she tends to a German-Australian mutt, grouchy min pin, an impressively large cat, two horses, and loving husband Bob. Her two daughters, Aubrey and Adrianne, help along the way as she builds her portfolio and takes each new step in her artist’s journey. If she isn’t plopped in front of her easel, you can probably find her in her garden, or trotting her handsome pony around the round pen.
Surely a woman for the job, Kim will help you commemorate your pet family with a unique touch and careful eye. Please take time to view her current gallery, and visit “Contact Me” page with any inquiries.
